The earliest written reference to the Whiskey Sour is in Jerry Thomas' cocktail book, published in 1862, called the Bartender's Guide.br br To make this drink you will need the following:br br 1 34 oz Bourbon (we used Fighting Cock Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey)br 34 oz Simple Syrupbr 34 oz Lemon Juicebr 34 oz Egg Whitesbr 1 Dash of Angostura Bittersbr br Two metal Shaker Tinsbr A Sour Glass or any glass that holds 6-8 oz.br br First, add your 1 34 oz bourbon, 34 oz simple syrup, and 34 oz Lemon juice in one of your shaker tins. Next, add your 34 oz egg whites and ice in the other shaker tin. Pour your bourbon, simple syrup, and lemon juice into the tin with your egg whites and ice. Close both tins together and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
