Honduras: National Party Opposes Referendum on Int'l Commission

Honduras' ruling National Party has come out against a referendum on whether to create an international anti-impunity commission to investigate corruption allegations against past and present high-level government officials. The opposition and the growing protest movement are demanding the creation of such a commission but the National Party said it would be unconstitutional. The US$500 million corruption scandal has also extended to current President Juan Orlando Hernandez. Gerardo Torres reports from Tegucigalpa.
