The Jerusalem Valley wildfire burning in Lake County grew to 6,000 acres by the morning of August 11, according to reports. The brush fire started on the afternoon of Sunday, August 9, and spread across 2,000 acres within five hours, according to Cal Fire. Authorities issued a mandatory evacuation for the Jerusalem Valley area as erratic winds, low humidity and temperatures in the 90s fueled the blaze.
