An eleven-year old girl who was denied an abortion in Paraguay after being raped by her stepfather has given birth. Abortion is only allowed in the Catholic country when the mother’s life is in danger. Her stepfather, who repeatedly abused her, is being tried for rape. The case attracted international attention when Paraguay’s Health Ministry refused to terminated the pregnancy.
