Angel Romero was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday for his role in the 2013 assassination of Venezuelan indigenous leader Sabino Romero. The ruling with its maximum sentence was considered a landmark decision. Another five suspects had already been sentenced to seven years in prison for their involvement in the killing of the indigenous resistance leader.
