br The story is about a mysterious village Neeli Betta on 'Chitra Pournami' day where human sacrifices take place. A TV channel Green TV unit headed by Vinod arrives to picturise the happenings. But the five-member crew gets murdered one after the other. For the cops especially police officer Bharath it becomes a prestige issue to dig out the truth. In a flash back the story is told about a rivalry between Neela (Charulatha) and Malli (Ramyakrishnan) over the local village boy Veera (Suman). When the beautiful Malli marries Veera, the life of ugly looking Neela becomes dejected. She acquires all the magic strength from her father and does a Yaaga. The rest is all about the clash between god power and strength of the witch. br Watch Full Movie. br br Chitirai Pournami: Chitra Poornima br Chitra Pournami, or Chitirai Purnima, is a unique Tamil festival observed on the full moon day (Poornima) in the month of Chitirai (April – May). In 2016, the date of Chitirai Pournami is April 22. The day is dedicated to Chitragupta, the official keeper of deeds in the abode of Yama. It is believed that bathing in holy rivers and temple ponds on the day will wash away the sins committed. br br In Hinduism, Chitragupta, the first assistant of Lord Yama, is the one who keeps record of the good and bad deeds of human beings on earth. After death, when one reaches the abode of yama, it is he who tallies the good and bad deeds and declares it to Yama. Therefore, the day is dedicated to Chitragupta and devotees pray to him to forgive their sins. br Elaborate pujas are done on Chitirai Pournami in temples and a special rice offering is made to Chitragupta. br br br The Hindu scriptures prescribe elaborate worship of the Chitra Guptas on this day. The Deity is invoked in an image or a kalasa (vessel filled with water) and then worshipped with all the rituals and formalities of the worship offered to God's image.
