UN Human Rights Coordinator Fabrizio Hochschild reported that fighting in Colombia's 50-year civil war is at its lowest level in three decades thanks to the rebel's declaration of a unilateral ceasefire. The government responded to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia's decision with an announcement that it would deescalate its own military efforts and call off airstrikes on rebel positions.
