Hundreds of undergraduates staged a noisy protest outside the Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA) mosque in protest against the suspension of its best known law lecturer Abdul Aziz Bari. br br As soon as Friday prayers came to a close, the youths converged before erupting into chants of "Long liveknowledge", "Fight cruelty", "Free Aziz Bari".br br Details are sketchy at this moment, but there has been some arrests made.br br Earlier today, a group of undergraduates demanded UIA rector Zaleha Kamarudin withdraw its suspension of constitutional expert Abdul Aziz Bari.br br This, they say, was necessary to "restore the image of UIA as a respected academic institution".br br Solidariti Mahasiswa Malaysia (SMM), in a pre-protest press conference, made clear its demands in a memorandum that will be submitted to the university this evening.
