Micropipette aspiration of an enthelial cell to measure its adhesion force.

A micropipette is positioned perpendicular to the surface of adherent endothelial cells cultured on the bottom of a petri dish. A syringe pump a constant-rate aspiration pressure increase. When reaching a critical aspiration pressure the cell detaches from its substrate. Time is accelerated 20 times. br See Hogan et al., Biophysical Journal 2015; 109 (2): 209–219.
