Mexico to Massively Cut Spending

Mexico to Massively Cut Spending

The Mexican government announced it would massively cut spending in 2016 to help maintain the country's economic stability. Finance Minister Luis Videgaray said US$13 billion would be cut and the budget deficit reduced from 1 to 0.5 of GDP. He attributed the measures to the weakness of the global economy, the drop in oil prices, and the devaluation of the Mexican peso.
