Taoyuan International Airport's passenger volume is expected to surpass 40 million this year. Terminal 3 will increase the airport's passenger capacity, but it won't be completed for another five years. As such, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has decided to build a fourth terminal to relieve congestion. This terminal, which will be able to service five million travelers a year, will be smaller than Terminal 3 and will be completed by 2018.
