Ahmedabad : Providing transplantation opportunities for patients with incompatible live donors through kidney paired donation (KPD) is an important strategy for easing the crisis in organ availability. Most patients waiting for a kidney transplant receive the organ from a deceased donor. But a living person can be a donor as well. Ahmedabad Civil Hospital became the witness of three-way kidney paired donation transplantation and gave new life to six people.
