How to Make Kulich - Traditional Orthodox Easter Cake

Kulich, or traditional Orthodox Easter cake is the main symbol of Slavic Easter. Despite the fact that yeast dough is quite difficult to cook, we offer you the best recipe of this holiday baking, which always works. br br Ingredients: br br 100 g butter br 5 eggs br 2 tbsp. sugar br 600 g Tipo '0' Flour br 2 tsp. salt br 1 cup raisins br 1 cup candied fruit br 1 cup dried apricots br 1 cup dried cherries br 15 g dried yeast br 2 cup milk br 250 ml powdered sugar br br Preparation: br br Mix yeast, sugar, tepid milk and flour. Cover a pre-ferment with food film and put it in a warm place for 20-30 minutes. br Mix thoroughly butter with sugar. Whisk yolks. Knead a soft dough (less than 10 minutes), gradually adding flour. br Place the dough into the buttered mixing bowl, cover it and set aside in a warm place for 1,5-2 hours. br Mix candied fruit, dried apricots, raisins, and dried cherries. Sprinkle dried fruit with flour and stir. br Cover the dough with the food film and set in a warm place for 1 hour. br Divide dough into pieces and put it into prepared molds. Cover it and set aside for another hour. br Mix egg yolk and milk. Brush top of dough with mixture. br Preheat the oven to 190 C, bake 15 min, then lower heat to 165 C, and bake for another 20-30 min br Mix 2 egg whites, salt and powdered sugar for frosting. Garnish Easter Cakes with it.
