A summer job for many teens means life-guarding, baby-sitting, or manning the counter at a fast food restaurant. But for an ambitious group of Memphis high school students and graduates, a summer job can jump-start a lifelong career. Earn and Learn is a new summer training and internship program that helps young adults learn information technology skills. Students are paid $13hr and can graduate from the program with valuable CompTIA certifications - certifications that can hep them land a job, whether they're continuing their education or entering the employment market full time. br br Earn and learn is a collaboration between the Shelby County School System, the Workforce Investment Network (WIN), and the Creating IT Futures Foundation.
