Members of the Trujillo National University Workers Union have initiated a 72-hour strike calling for fair wages. They insisted that they are not part of a new system of civil servants, charging that their inclusion would mean benefit cuts. Union leaders said that if a solution is not found quickly, they will go out on an indefinite strike as of November 9.
