In recent months, hundreds of thousands of migrants and refugees fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East, Asia and Africa have travelled from Greece along the so-called Balkans route to northern Europe. EU leaders and Turkey will meet in Brussels on Sunday for talks on how to tackle the crisis.
