While I was performing in Macau a few years ago there was a night I went out to a dance club and met a really beautiful Taiwanese girl. We danced for a while, and then ended up going back to my place together. It was a pretty lonely time in my life, and I was happy to have had this girl pick me to spend the night with. She was really charming, and I kind of hoped it would turn into something more. I suddenly had a thought as she was laying next to me. I wondered why she had decided to spend the night with me, so I asked her. She looked right through me as if reading the words written across my own heart, and said with 100 honesty... "...because I'm afraid of being alone". Those words echoed in my head, and turned into this song.
