FARC guerrillas have outlined steps towards becoming a political party in Colombia even as the country’s Senate debates legislation that would prevent former guerrillas from participating in politics. The Broad Front for Peace has identified a rise in paramilitary activity as the major threat to a lasting peace and is also concerned about the deployment of the army in communities affected by the armed conflict.
