Honduras: High Prices Drive Meat Consumption Down by 40%

High and increasing prices in Honduras have driven down meat consumption by 40 in the past five years, according to an investigation by the central bank. Meat is currently selling for almost US$5 a pound in supermarkets, which puts it out of the reach for the impoverished majority. A third of the population eats meat less than three times a week.
