Me 7 vota pro dhe një kundër Gjykata Kushtetuese i ka hapur rruge zhvillimit te referendumit kundër importit te mbetjeve; i pari referendum qe zhvillohet ne Shqipëri me iniciativën e qytetareve. Aleanca Kundër Importit te Plehrave e cila mblodhi rreth 64 mije firma te qytetareve për te shfuqizuar nenet e ligjit për menaxhimin e mbetjeve urbane qe rregullonin importin e plehrave; vlerëson pozitivisht vendimin e kushtetueses pasi lejon qytetaret te vendosin për te ardhmen e tyre. Ndërkohe qe Juristi Sokol Hazizaj shpjegon se pas vendimit te kushtetueses procedurat për zhvillimin e referendumit pothuaj kane përfunduar por ai nuk mund te zhvillohet këtë vit për shkak te kushtëzimeve kohore.
