DOWNLOAD LINK FOR ALL FILES br br br I USED FILES AND GUIDES FROM ALL OVER THE INTERNET, SO ALL THE CREDITS GO TO THOSE PEOPLE, MOSTLY TO XDA FORUM MEMBERS. br br TUTORIAL (IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE SOME OF THESE STEPS, PROCEED TO NEXT ONE) br br (I) FIRST OF ALL, ROOT THE DEVICE br br 1. Download and Install the USB Drivers. br 2. Download zip file containing temporary CWM package and extract the contents to an accessible location. br 3. Turn on USB Debugging and then connect your phone to the PC. br USB Debugging can be accessed by going to Settings-About-Software Information- Tap Build number 7 times. Then go 2 steps back and choose Developer options- USB Debugging. br 4. Copy SuperSUxxx.zip -xxx is the SuperSU version- to the root of your SD card. br 5. Run caidatCWM.bat. In the command window, type ACCEPT -in capitals- and hit Enter. br 6. Type T4 and hit enter again. Your phone should restart infastboot mode, take the commands and then load the temporary CWM. It will take about a minute for this to complete. br 7. When the phone boots CWM Recovery, you can disconnect the device from the PC. Then select Install Zip by using Volume Keys to highlight and Power Key to select. br 8. Select choose zip from external sdcard and then select the SuperSUxxx.zip file copied to the SD card in step 4. Select Yes – Install SuperSuxxx.zip to start flashing. It will take a few moments for theSuperSU to be installed, so be patient. br 9. When done, reboot your phone and that’s it. Verify the root by installing any root checker app from the Play Store. br br (II) THEN UNLOCK BOOTLOADER (works for v2.19.40.12, v2.19.40.13, v2.19.40.23 and all future versions, you just have to update your phone first) br br Just unzip everything from attached archive and then start unlockoneclickv2.bat br If you've enabled USB debugging, then phone will automatically reboot to bootloader and will unlock the bootloader. If you didn't enable USB debugging, then you need to reboot to bootloader manually -Turn the phone off and disconnect USB, then press Power+VolumeUp keys at the same time and keep it pressed till you see ASUS logo, then you may connect USB cable-. br Either way, unlockoneclickv2.bat will proceed to unlock in fully automated way. br If initial boot splash screen become inverted, then bootloader has been unlocked! br br (III) INSTALL TWRP br br 1. Download twrp.img from the download section and put in fastboot folder. br 2. Boot into bootloader - turn off, keep Vol+ pressed and press the power button until it vibrates - then release ONLY the power button and keep volume up pressed until you see the fastboot GUI br Open up fastboot on your PC -shitf+right click in folder selecting "open a command window"- and type: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img br 3. Then press vol down 2 times until "Reboot recovery" shows up and press power 1 time to boot into recovery br br (IV) INSTALL CYANOGENMOD 12.1 br br 1. Download cm and gapps files to your PC. br br 2. Connect Asus Zenfone to PC via USB cord. br br 3. Place CyanogenMod CM12.1 Android v5.1.1 Lollipop custom ROM zip file and Google Apps .zip file into the phone's SD card memory or external SD card. br br 4. Turn off the device and disconnect from the PC. br br 5. Boot to TWRP br br 6. Click wipe datafactory reset or whatever it is called. It will erase your data,cache and davlik br br 7. Come back to main recovery screen and then tap 'install zip from SD card' br br 8. Tap 'choose zip from sdcard' and go to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM .zip file in SD card and enter the installation process. Repeat the same procedure for Google Apps installation. br br 9.
