Maryam Rajavi called on international community to expel Iranian regime from br br region br br World can be free of fundamentalism only when the clerical regime in Iran as the br br epicenter of fundamentalism is overthrown br br In a gathering of French supporters of the Iranian Resistance celebrating the br br New Year, the Iranian Resistance's President-elect Maryam Rajavi expressed her br br regrets over bitter incidents of 2015 which made the world suffer especially in br br France and in the Middle East. br br She pointed out: The more France and the world focus on the source of br br fundamentalism, i.e. the Tehran regime and its allies, the closer they would get to br br peace and security. br br The gathering was held at the headquarters of the Iranian Resistance in Auvers- br br sur-Oise. Mrs. Rajavi noted the persistence of bloodbaths in Syria and Iraq as br br well as in other countries in the Middle East, and the displacement of millions of br br oppressed people in this part of the world. br br She asserted: DAESH (ISIS or ISIL) can be conquered. The first step in doing so, br br however, is to defeat the Assad dictatorship that fosters DAESH with the backing br br of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). br br Mrs. Rajavi called on the world community and France to adopt a decisive policy br br to expel the Iranian regime from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. br br She also described 2015 as a year when repression escalated in Iran with br br stepped up executions and crackdown on women and adherents of other br br religions and faiths, adding: In the past year alone, some 1000 people were br br executed under Rouhani who claims to be a "moderate". Also, 88 rockets were br br fired at PMOI members in Camp Liberty under the command and at the behest of br br the clerical regime which led to the deaths of 24 residents and wounding of br br dozens more. br br The Iranian Resistance's President-elect reiterated: The world can free itself br br from fundamentalism only when the clerical regime in Iran that is the epicenter br br of fundamentalism, is overthrown. Therefore, we call on the world community to br br respect the Iranian people’s struggle for the overthrow of the mullahs. br br Other speakers addressed the gathering of hundreds of French supporters of the br br Iranian Resistance, including Bishop Jacques Gaillot; Anissa Boumediene, former br br First Lady of Algeria and scholar on Islam; Jean-Pierre Brard, former member of br br the French National Assembly; Khalil Merroun, prayer leader and head of the br br mosque in Evry; Renée Le Mignot, co-president of the Movement Against Racism br br and for Friendship between Peoples (MRAP). br br NCRI members Mohammad Shams, composer and conductor, and Hamidreza br br Taherzadeh, musician, as well as Ms. Gisoo Shakeri, renowned singer, also br br performed in the gathering.
