Brave NYPD cops arrest armed man without the use of deadly force

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department has released security video showing Monday night's arrest of 31-year-old Edward Chatman. br br NYPD officers Harry Delacruz and Cesar Gomez were in an unmarked police car, patrolling an area near Featherbed Lane and Nelson Avenue around 10 p.m. when they heard a gunshot and saw people running. They spotted a man holding a gun who then fired another shot. br br With firearms drawn, the officers approached the suspect and apprehended him, remarkably without the use of deadly force or really without much of any force at all. Chatman dropped his firearm as cops closed in on him. br br Officers found Chatman to be in possession of a loaded .357 caliber Ruger stainless steel revolver. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and prohibited use of a weapon. br br Chatman will likely see jail time, but from the looks of this video, the Bronx resident is lucky these brave cops kept their cool and handled the situation without filling him with holes. br br ------------------------------------------------------------- br br Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
