Poem by: Hudson Link alumnus, Raymond Yu br br I am an eagle in a cage br Unable to spread my wings and fly br Unable to do the things that makes me I br I am an eagle in a cage, able to see the skies br Able to watch the sunset and sunrise br Physically I am well br But inside I cry, inside I die br Tortured, forced to watch sparrows and butterflies br …and I die, and die br No, but this is not my demise br In fact, this is when I will rise br This is when I will let my spirit soar high br Pass mountains and see through clouds in the sky br I remain I regardless of how long I am tied, how much I am tried br I will not fold, I will not hide, I will not bide, and I damn sure will not die br I will survive; I will be the eagle in the sky br No, this is not my demise.
