One of the biggest surprises this year may very well be the release of this new trailer and poster for Solomon Kane, which will be released on VOD formats August 24 before its stateside theatrical debut September 28. James Purefoy stars as the title character, a 16th Century soldier who vows to live a life of peace after his soul was taken by the devil. His peaceful ways don't last for long, though, as he vows to free a Puritan's daughter from slavery. Check out the latest footage from director Michael J. Bassett's period action-adventure, along with the new 1-sheet. Solomon Kane comes to theaters September 28th, 2012 and stars James Purefoy, Max von Sydow, Pete Postlethwaite, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Alice Krige, Mackenzie Crook, Samuel Roukin, Jason Flemyng.
