In terms of tone and style, the series is based primarily on the original stories by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, with a similar balance of action, drama, and comedy as well as a high school setting. However, it also tends to utilize material from all eras of the comics run and other sources such as the film series and the Ultimate Spider-Man comics.[2]\rbrThe Spectacular Spider-Man premiered on March 8, 2008 during the Kids WB! programming block of The CW, and received critical acclaim. The series aired its second season on Marvels sister network, Disney XD in the United States and ended its run on November 18, 2009, also receiving positive critical attention. Although a third season was planned, the series was cancelled before production could begin.\rbr\rbrThom Adcox - Tinkerer\rbrEdward Asner - Uncle Ben\rbrDee Bradley Baker - LizardDr. Curt Connors\rbrIrene Bedard - Jean DeWolff\rbrJeff Bennett - MontanaShocker, St. John Devereaux, Bernard Houseman\rbrXander Berkeley - Mysterio\rbrSteven Blum - Green Goblin, Chameleon, Blackie Gaxton, Dillbert Trilby, Seymour OReilly\rbrClancy Brown - George Stacy, Ox (1st Time), Rhino\rbrAngela Bryant - Calypso\rbrMax Burkholder - Billy Connors\rbrLacey Chabert - Gwen Stacy\rbrRobert Costanzo - Sullivan Edwards\rbrNikki Cox - Silver Sable\rbrJim Cummings - Crusher Hogan\rbrKeith David - Tombstone (1st Time)\rbrGrey DeLisle - Betty Brant, Sally Avril\rbrJohn DiMaggio - Hammerhead, Sandman\rbrBenjamin Diskin - Eddie BrockVenom\rbrCharles Duckworth - Hobie Brown\rbrRobert Englund - Vulture\rbrBill Fagerbakke - Morris Bench\rbrMiguel Ferrer - Silvermane\rbrCrispin Freeman - Electro\rbrElisa Gabrielli - Ashley Kafka\rbrBrian George - Aaron Warren, Miles Warren\rbrDorian Harewood - Dr. Bromwell\rbrTricia Helfer - Black Cat\rbrKelly Hu - Sha Shan Nguyen\rbrJosh Keaton - Spider-ManPeter Parker\rbrAndrew Kishino - Kenny Kong, Ned Lee\rbrClyde Kusatsu - Ted Twaki\rbrPhil LaMarr - Robbie Robertson, Randy Robertson, Fancy DanRicochet\rbrJoshua LeBar - Flash Thompson\rbrStan Lee - Stan\rbrEric Lopez - Molten Man\rbrJane Lynch - Joan Jameson\rbrPeter MacNicol - Doctor Octopus\rbrVanessa Marshall - Mary Jane Watson\rbrDaran Norris - J.
