One of our astounding female gorillas at the Louisville Zoological Gardens was in distress during labor and required emergency C-section. To our deepest sadness the mother, Mia, did not survive. Her beautiful baby is now stable, being fed by bottle and cared for 247. We grieve for Mia but celebrate her baby. There have been 3 successful births of gorillas at the Award winning Great Apes exhibit in Louisville, KY. As usual, there will be a city wide contest to present her with a name.
