He wishes for the cloth of heaven

He wishes for the cloth of heaven

Yeats is a major Irish poet. He tends to be romantic, spiritual and nationalistic. Here I have tried putting a bit of an 'edge' on one of his poems. br br Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths, br Enwrought with golden and silver light, br The blue and the dim and the dark cloths br Of night and light and the half-light, br I would spread the cloths under your feet: br But I, being poor, have only my dreams; br I have spread my dreams under your feet; br Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
