Learn how to make restaurant style Sambar - a popular South Indian lentil & vegetable curry from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani. Sambar is served with Dosa, Idli, Uttappa & Rice as a main course dish for lunch dinner. br br ngredients: br br 250 gms Tur Dal br 1 Onion, chopped br 1 Tomato, chopped br 2 Drumsticks, chopped br 3 Egg Plants, chopped br 1 Bottle Gourd, chopped br 1 tsp Mustard Seeds br 15-20 Curry Leaves br 3 Dry Red Chillies br 7-8 Fenugreek Seeds br 1 tsp Tamarind Pulp br 1 tbsp Sambar Masala br 1 tsp Mix Masala br 3 tbsp Oil br Coriander Leaves br Salt to taste br Water br br Method: br br - In a pan heat some oil. br - Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, dry red chillies, fenugreek seeds & coriander leaves. Give a stir. br - Add chopped onion, tomato, sambar masala & salt. Mix everything well. br - Add chopped drumsticks, egg plant, bottle gourd & water. Mix well. br - Cover it with a lid and let the vegetables cook for 10 minutes. br - Then add tamarind pulp, mix masala, sambar masala & dal. Add little water & mix well. br - Let the sambar simmer for 5 minutes. br - Sambar is ready to be served.
