Odd-even inconvenience not enough? Auto stike in Delhi on Monday

New Delhi, Apr 16 (ANI): With the second phase of the odd-even formula kicking in from Friday, residents of India's national capital New Delhi may face further commuting problems on Monday with auto rickshaw and taxi unions announcing plans to go on a one-day strike. These unions have reportedly objected to the illegal plying of private cabs as also the delay in the release of 10,000 more auto rickshaws by the Delhi government. They have also objected to some of the harsh rules imposed against them and also demanded a revision of fares. br The odd-even vehicle rationing scheme will be on from April 15 to April 30 to bring pollution levels in the national capital down. Nearly 2,000 traffic police personnel are on duty for regulating traffic and taking action against violators.
