He was the creator of Armenian alphabet . And I can't really tell why they named the cake after him, but that's how all and most Armenian cake recipes are : they all have a specific name, could be the name of a city, country, famous person, etc. br This meringue walnut cake is uniquely delicious. It's got two thick layers of walnut packed soft biscuits, a thick layer of crispy meringue in between, and what gives the cake that unique taste, is the rich coffee flavored buttercream. The cake is usually decorated with a good amount of flower or star shaped meringues.
