HOUSTON — Two people were killed, including a suspect, after a mass shooting took place in Houston, Texas on Sunday. br br The main suspect was armed with an AR-15 rifle and a pistol, police said. Authorities said another armed man was also at the scene, although his role in the shooting has not been determined. br br Police received reports of a shooting at an auto shop at the 13200 block of Memorial Drive at around 10:15 a.m. One man who reportedly drove up to the shop when the shooting began was shot in the head and killed by the gunman, acting Houston Police Chief Martha Montalvo told reporters. The gunman then opened fire on the squad car of a responding policeman, hitting the vehicle at least 21 times. The officer inside the vehicle was not hurt. br br When a police helicopter and SWAT teams arrived on the scene, the gunman reportedly opened fire on the helicopter, hitting it at least five times.
