Israeli entry to Eurovision 2005; taken from the Semi Final from the BBC3 broadcast. Shiri Maimon is the runner up of Israeli Idol 1 [2003 Season]. Since then she became one of Israel's most popular young singers; Her 2005 Eurovision performance - seen in this clip - created a whole new fan base for her in Europe and beyond. Shiri received 158 points in the semi final, reaching 7th position (out of 25 countries) and thus making the big final (only Top-10 made the final). In the big final, she received a total of 154 points and reached the 4th position (!) out of 24 countries;
Many feels that haddn't it been for political & tactical voting, Shiri would have - and should have! - won the Song Contest. (
