The newborn was discovered by chance as police patrolling the Amerat province in Muscat heard the girl crying. Officers then wrapped her up in a blanket and tried to comfort the child who was clearly in distress.The child was taken to Muscat's Khoulah Hospital and police have started looking for the mother.
