The UFC stripped Jon Jones of his light heavyweight title for the second time in two years, ESPN reports. Jones was banned one year by the United States Anti-Doping Agency after failing a drug test prior to his UFC 200 title rematch with Daniel Cormier. “He was the interim champion because he should have been fighting for the title [in April]. We gave him this, 'You were supposed to fight for the title. Here it is.” Jones held the interim belt since April 2016 after he defeated Ovince Saint Preux. He was previously stripped of his championship in April 2015 due to his arrest in a hit-and-run.
