Highly recommended to visit. The Temple Mount is rich with history and religious significance, being sacred to Jews, Muslims and Christians. Here, Abraham offered his son Isaac as a sacrifice (Gen 22) and it is the location of the great Jerusalem Temple. King David chose this temple to house the Ark of the Covenant (2 Sam 24:18-25). Jesus was also dedicated at the Temple (Luke 2:22-28) later impressed the Jewish teachers with His knowledge of God's word (Luke 2:41-52). Jesus was later tempted by Satan to jump off the Temple to prove his status (Matt 4:1-11). Jesus also angrily overturned tables of money changers when He cleansed the Temple (Matt 21:12).
