UCLA became the first college in the U.S. to receieve 100,000 applications

So you want to go to University of California, Los Angeles? Get in line. Over 100,000 high school seniors applied to the school in the hopes of enrolling there for their freshman year. UCLA is the first school in the United States to get 100,000 applications, with four other UC schools garnering over 80,000 applications. Though over 100,000 people applied, only 6,500 will be entering UCLA as the Class of 2021, not including transfer students. The biggest bump in applying students came from in-state applications with an 8 percent increase this year, bringing the total number of in-state applicants to 63,478. The number of international applications and domestic applications outside of California were 17,832 and 20,867 respectively.
