Life Partner was to be released on August 14 but that had been delayed as all the cinemas and multiplexes remaining closed for three days because of the swine flu threat. This has upset the makers and the audiences of both the films. Though the movies have released in other cities and states but the release has been postponed in Mumbai and Pune which has immensely hindered the businesses of these movies.

14th august was an appropriate time for the release as it was followed by 15th August, Independence day and 16th August which is a Sunday. The audience had already planned their weekend accordingly but it wasnt destined to happen that way.

Rumy Jaffrey, the director of Life Partner, said, This is just a financial loss. The important thing is to safeguard everyones health. Tusshar Kapoor in an interview though showed respect for Maharshtra governments decision but there this decision has definitely hindered him and his growing career
