As host, he needed to use his quick comedic timing to deal with the fallout of a mistaken announcement
And he used his show to hilariously pin responsibility on his sidekick, Guillermo
Guillermo is shown throwing the correct envelope behind him and drinking from a large bottle
Kimmel said in real life that for whatever reason there was a regular envelope and a back-up one and that Warren Beatty had been handed the wrong one
Joked that 'biggest winner and loser was "La La Land,"' said producers were gracious and that Oscar hand-off was 'a very amiable custody arrangement'
'La La Land' was announced as Best Picture, when 'Moonlight' had actually won
Later spoke with Mahershala Ali, who won Best Supporting Actor for 'Moonlight'
