Scientists developed a genetic test that can predict the age a person will develop Alzheimer’s disease. Based on genetics, the test can accurately predict the disease 10-15 years before it develops in a person. Those who received a high score on the test were three-times as likely to have Alzheimer’s during the course of the study. The people who ranked in top 10 percent were most likely to develop the disease at an average age of 84 while the lowest 10 percent would get it at age 95.
