Thieves broke into the Bode Museum in Germany and stole a 100kg gold coin worth millions of dollars. The thieves entered through a window around 3:30 a.m. on Monday and broke into the cabinet where the coin was displayed, according to the museum’s spokesperson. The coin, called “Big Maple Leaf,” is 999.991000 pure gold and has the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side and maple leaves on the other. The coin has a face value of $1 million and could be worth almost $4.5 million at market prices. Police have not caught any suspects, but they have found a ladder by railway tracks nearby.
