On Saturday, April the giraffe gave birth to a long overdue calf, as hundreds of thousands of people watched the live cam feed from her pen in a New York zoo. April, who was due to give birth in January or February at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, was pregnant for at least 16 months. Hundreds of thousands of people witnessed the birth live on the YouTube livestream page. Zoo officials have yet to announce the calf's gender. And they also plan to hold a contest to name the baby.
