Like any procedure in plastic surgery, the length of the actual surgery will depend on multiple factors. In particular, the length of the liposuction procedure can take from 20 minutes all the way to 3 hours. It all depends on what liposuction areas needs to be targeted, the endpoint of the procedure, etc. This is the particular reason that in my practice, liposuction takes me approximately 2 to 3 hours under general anesthetic for me to sculpt your body into a beautiful hourglass shape. If you are otherwise healthy, the length of the procedure is not something you need to worry about. In essence when it comes to the timing of the procedure, it will also depend on your goal. Let us say for example that you only want chin liposuction (which will only take 10-15 minutes), but if you want to have a sculpted body, liposuction on your thighs and back will significantly increase the amount of time that you will be under general anesthetic. Ultimately, there should be no concern about the time that you are going to be under liposuction.
