Thousands of Civilians Flee Fighting in North Raqqa

pThousands of civilians have fled areas of north Raqqa affected by fighting between Islamic State and US-backed militias, according to a video shared by a pro-opposition media on April 26.ppThe video report says that about 1,500 civilians have fled the airstrikes and fighting between Islamic State and Syrian Democratic Forces near Kabash towna.ppCivilians were being accommodated in a refugee camps in Ain Issaa in north Raqqa.ppThe first speaker in the video is identified as an SDF fighter named Ibrahim Othman. He says more than 20,000 civilians have fled to the camps from across the northern part of the province since the fourth phase of the Raqqa offensivea – north of the city – launched on April 13.ppThe woman says that they arrived from Kabash town. She describes the situation in her town as very bad, with many people killed in the airstrikes.
