Pittsburgh Zoo Cares for Premature Elephant Calf

pThe Pittsburgh Zoo is caring for a premature calf born in early June to Seeni, an elephant at the International Conservation Center in Somerset, Pennsylvania. Seeni wasn’t producing milk, so the female calf was whisked off to Pittsburgh.ppThe zoo team is feeding, bathing and sometimes even sleeping with her while watching carefully over her health. The zookeepers say she is “spunky” but has a “long road” ahead. The as-yet-unnamed calf won’t be on public display for some months, but the zoo promises to post updates and has started a bloga for the baby.
