Deep sea fishermen appear to be vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases due to a lack of sexual health literacy, access to healthcare and drug dependency, a study has found. br br This was discovered through a joint study by Tenaganita, Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) and the Centre of Excellence for Research in AIDS (Ceria) with the support of the World Wildlife Fund ( WWF), where they interviewed 127 fishermen, both local and migrants, from six states in Peninsula Malaysia.
