br pIdaho’s largest sequoia tree was on the move on Sunday, June 25, as it was brought to its new home in Fort Boise Parka in Boise. The tree, which is more than 100 years old, is believed to have grown from a seedling from John Muir in California.ppMoving the tree is part of an expansion project at St. Luke’s Health System’s downtown Boise campus. The tree was moved only two blocks, but crews started the move after midnight and didn’t finish until more than eight hours later.ppThe tree grew from a cutting that was given to doctors Fred and Alice Pittenger by conservationist Emile Grandjean. The two doctors planed the tree next to their home around 1912.
