Former Team director Ravi Shastri has formally applied for the post of Team's coach. Meanwhile though Shastri is a strong contender for the top post in the Team there are others also in the contention namely Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Doda Ganesh , Lalchand Rajput and Former West Indies coach Phil Simmons.
