The auspicious month of Sawan or Shravan is considered as the holiest of months, according to the Hindu calendar. All Mondays, which fall during the Shravan month, hold immense significance in the North Indian states. Shravan begins from the first day of the full moon and ends in the third week of August. The name Shravan is taken from the Shravan Nakshatra or star that rules the sky during the time.
