Basmati rice br ½ cup Urad dal split and polished br ¼ cup Puffed rice (Poha) br ½ tsp. Fenugreek seeds (Soak with Urad dal; optional) br Salt as required br br 2 tbsp. Ghee br br br Method:- br - Wash Urad Dal 3-4 times thoroughly and soak in warm water for a minimum of 6-8 hours. br - Wash the Rice 3-4 times thoroughly and soak in warm water for a minimum of 6-8 hours. br - Grind the soaked dal to a smooth paste with ½ a cup water. br - Grind the rice in the same jar to a coarse paste with ½ a cup water. br - Add puffed rice to this and grind again. br - Transfer the ground rice and ground dal to a bowl and add a cup full of water and mix well. br - Cover and place in a warm place overnight or 6-8 hours. br - Once fermented add salt to the batter.
